Looks like Samsung is going to price its upcoming Galaxy S5 smartphone at INR 51,500 in the Indian market. This pricing was revealed earlier today by Mumbai-based retailer Mahesh Telecom.
If accurate, this will make Samsung Galaxy S5 the most expensive Samsung flagship smartphone till date in the country.
To remind you, Samsung is hosting a press event tomorrow to unveil the phone in New Delhi, where it will be officially announcing the pricing and other availability details but we are hearing that the pre-orders will begin on March 28 and will continue until April 10. The phone will go on sale beginning April 11, which is also the global availability date of the phone.
Introduced at Mobile World Congress last month, Samsung Galaxy S5 comes with 5.1-inch full HD display, 2GB of RAM, Android 4.4.2, and 16MP rear camera. There is no confirmation on which processor will be powering the Galaxy S5 model being released in the country, but it is likely that we will finally see a Snapdragon powered Galaxy S-series phone this year. Samsung had traditionally released the Exynos-versions in India.
